Sync with Google Calendar or iCal
The NEST can work with the calendar you already use so your signing schedule doesn't have to live in a separate system.
Go to **Settings → Calendar** to manage your external calendar connection and preferences.
### Google Calendar
Choose **Connect Google Calendar** to connect a Google account.
The Google account you choose does not have to match the email address you use to sign in to The NEST.
Once connected, new appointments created in The NEST are automatically added to Google Calendar. When supported appointment information changes, the corresponding calendar event is updated as well. Cancelled appointments are also reflected on the connected calendar.
### Sync appointments that already exist
Connecting Google Calendar handles new appointments going forward, but you may already have upcoming orders in The NEST.
Use **Sync upcoming appointments** to push your existing upcoming, non-cancelled appointments to the connected Google Calendar.
You generally only need this as a backfill after connecting or reconnecting your calendar.
### Bring Google events into The NEST
The Google connection can also bring external calendar events into The NEST.
By default, imported events appear directly on your NEST calendar as **Calendar Import** events.
Select an imported event when you need to decide what it represents. An event can remain a calendar event or be converted into an order when it represents a signing you need to manage in The NEST.
### Review imports before they reach your calendar
If you prefer to review incoming Google events separately, enable **Review calendar imports in an inbox** under your calendar settings.
With this option enabled, imported events are held in the Calendar Inbox for review rather than appearing directly on your NEST calendar.
Choose whichever workflow fits the way you manage incoming appointments.
### Customize calendar event titles
You can control how NEST appointments are titled on your external calendar.
The title template can use information from the order, including details such as:
* Appointment type * Service * Signer name * Location * Company * Order or file number * Fee * Loan type * Appointment modality
Use the combination that gives you the information you want to see when quickly scanning your external calendar.
The same title formatting is used for Google Calendar synchronization and your iCal subscription.
### Subscribe with iCal
If you use another calendar application, The NEST also provides an **iCal subscription feed**.
Copy your private calendar feed from **Settings → Calendar** and subscribe to it from a compatible calendar application.
An iCal subscription is different from the connected Google Calendar integration. It provides a calendar feed for another application to read rather than the fuller Google synchronization and import workflow.
### Keep your calendar feed private
Treat your iCal subscription address as private.
Anyone who has access to a private calendar feed may be able to view the calendar information it exposes. If you believe your feed has been shared or exposed, regenerate it from your calendar settings and update the subscription in your calendar application.
### If you disconnect Google Calendar
Disconnecting the Google account stops future synchronization until you reconnect.
Your orders remain in The NEST. Disconnecting an external calendar does not remove your underlying NEST order records.
