Set your profile before anything else

Your profile gives The NEST the information it needs to work for *your* notary business. Before entering your first order, take a few minutes to complete your setup under **Settings → Profile**.

### Origin Address

Set the address you normally travel from for appointments.

The NEST uses your origin address when calculating travel and mileage, so an accurate starting location is important for mileage tracking and pricing calculations.

If your normal starting point changes, you can update it later in your profile.

### Rate Structure

Your Rate Structure tells The NEST how you value the individual components of an appointment.

Review and set the rates that apply to your business, including mileage, printing and other available service rates. These values are used by pricing tools and fee breakdowns throughout the platform.

Your rates are **your business rates**. They do not have to be the same as the fee you ultimately accept for an order.

For example, an $85 signing may contain $110 worth of services based on your normal mileage, printing, notarial acts and service rates. Keeping those values separate allows The NEST to show you what the work is actually worth compared with what you are being offered or paid.

### Notary Information

Complete the notary-specific information available in your profile, including your commission information and other professional details that apply to you.

Keeping this information current allows The NEST to use the correct information throughout your account without requiring you to repeatedly enter it.

When you add expiration dates for your credentials, the system adds those reminders to the calendar - so nothing gets forgotten.

### Invoice Branding

Add your business and contact information. These details identify your business throughout The NEST and are used where your professional information needs to appear.

### You can change these settings later

Your business will change, and your profile can change with it. Return to **Settings → Profile** whenever you need to update your address, rates, commission information or other business details.

The important part is to establish your starting information before you begin entering orders. That gives The NEST accurate defaults to work from instead of requiring you to correct missing information later.
